British Film Institute
The bfi was established in 1933 to promote greater understanding, appreciation and access to film and television culture. We are the custodians of the largest film archive in the world and are a world leader in film restoration and preservation. In addition to our archive, we run the internationally renowned National Film Theatre and London Film Festival, the bfi IMAX Cinema, and the world's largest film library and educational resource.
And that's not all we do. We also release films in cinema and on video and DVD, publish books and run educational programmes. We also have one of the largest collections of film stills and film posters in the world.
