Royal Shakespeare Company
The Royal Shakespeare Company is one of the best known theatre companies in the world. The RSC's home is in Stratford-upon-Avon where we stage large-scale productions of Shakespeare's plays in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre; the Swan, a galleried playhouse, brings to light the plays of many of his neglected contemporaries alongside classics of world theatre, while The Other Place houses some of the companies most exciting experimental and contemporary work. In November 2004, the RSC will also perform a six-month season at the Albery Theatre on St Martins Lane. But Stratford and London are only part of the story. Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in the reach of the RSC, with major productions on tour around the UK and abroad.The company is formed round an ensemble of actors, whose artistic talents combine with those of the world's top directors and designers and the most highly skilled technical teams to give a distinctive and unmistakable approach to theatre.
