Walpole Medals of Excellence - Scotland

Held every two years in Edinburgh the Scottish Medals of Excellence recognises individuals who have been exemplary in their contribution to Scottish life and profile and it returned to Edinburgh for the 2009 Awards on 3rd September at The Balmoral. Medals of Excellence were awarded to Ashley Page OBE and Richard Wilson, OBE. The event brought together key luxury figures, press and celebrities. Scottish members were given a chance to showcase their products at the ceremony and also provide goodie bags. A dinner for Walpole members was held following the event and a PR Breakfast took place the next morning.

Beijing 2008 in Association with FT Rui

The Legation Quarter

This September, Walpole awarded its first Medal of Excellence in China to acclaimed pianist Yundi Li for his contribution towards British-Chinese trade, business and cultural relations. The Medal was presented at a star studded event, in Beijing's Legation Quarter with The Financial times, who launched new high net worth publication FT Rui.
 

Hong Kong 2007

The reception for 200 high profile guests and the presentation of a Walpole Medal of Excellence were held to congratulate Kenneth Fang and Joyce Ma for their contribution to British-Hong Kong trade.

Past recipients of the Walpole Medal of Excellence in Hong Kong are Dr C K Chow, Mr. Walter Kwok, Dr Li Ka Shing, Dr Dickson Poon and Mr. Peter Woo were among the guests on the evening.

Scotland 2007

The Walpole Medal of Excellence took take place at new Walpole Member; The Balmoral Hotel. Andrew Fairley, Chef-proprietor, Gleneagle, and Sir Tom Hunter of The Hunter Foundation and West Coast Capital were presented with a Walpole Medal of Excellence alongside other prominent individuals.
 

Hong Kong 2006

British Consulate General Garden, Hong Kong

Walpole awarded Hong Kong based businessman Sir CK Chow the 2006 Walpole Medal of Excellence for his contribution to British trade between the UK and Asia at a gala awards ceremony held at the British Consulate General in Hong Kong.

Edinburgh 2005

The Medals of Excellence once again came to Scotland last year and the Hamilton & Inches store in George Street, Edinburgh. In the past four years of these popular Walpole events, medals have been handed out to Scottish luminaries including Gordon Ramsay and JK Rowling.

Tokyo 2005

Tokyo, Japan

It was Japan’s turn to feature in the Walpole international limelight in 2005, with Hong Kong having hosted a similar event in 2004. The Medals were presented at the 15th anniversary celebrations of the Financial Times printing in Japan.
